Got Picnic?

The Carnival of Recipes is up over at Anywhere But Here. Just in time for America's Birthday!! SO if you have a picnic to go to, get over there and take a peek. There are plenty of great recipes, with those great seasonal fruits like peaches, rhubarb (rhubarb could be a veggie?), peaches, and strawberries. All looks delicious!! Oh, and you better try out my chicken recipe. So please have a safe, and fun Fourth of July.

OH and here is a bonus recipe just for the kiddos...OH and the big folks like it too.

RED WHITE & BLUE SALAD

1 qt. (4 cups) boiling water
1 pkg. (8-serving size) JELL-O Brand Berry Blue Flavor Gelatin
1 pkg. (8-serving size) JELL-O Brand Strawberry Flavor Gelatin
2 cups cold water
1 cup blueberries
1 tub (12 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed
1 cup strawberries, sliced

STIR 2 cups of the boiling water into each flavor of gelatin in separate medium bowls at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Stir 1 cup of the cold water into gelatin in each bowl.
REFRIGERATE blue gelatin 1-1/2 hours or until thickened (spoon drawn through leaves definite impression). Stir in blueberries. Pour into 4- to 6-quart glass bowl. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until set but not firm (should stick to finger when touched and should mound). Spread 3-1/2 cups of the whipped topping evenly over blue gelatin. Refrigerate until ready to use. Meanwhile, refrigerate strawberry gelatin 1-1/2 hours or until thickened. Stir in strawberries. Gently spoon over whipped topping layer.
REFRIGERATE 3 hours or until firm. Top with remaining whipped topping. Garnish with additional fruit, if desired. Store leftover dessert in refrigerator.
