I hope we thaw out before July, and I am glad it is not 1949.

I have been reading all sorts of stories about the blizzard of 1949 today.

here.

I must talk to my Father about this, he would have been 8, and lived in a town of about 300, and his Father was the City Marshall, and a Pastor. I am sure he will have some great story to share.

I keep reading there was still snow on the ground until JULY! Can you imagine? The first person accounts of that winter is fantastic, as are some of the photographs.

Wow, that's fascinating!

We just had our first bad snow. I didn't realize how much it would effect the rural community around here. Everyone is home bound pretty much. I guess my Texas bubble has burst now!

Fear not, the Goracle himself assures us that global warming is just around the corner. He can see the sun from inside his private jet. He smiles down on us and we bask in the warm glow of his and Tipper's knowing smile.

BRRRRR!

Mid-May they come around and push the snow pile (in the middle of the cul de sac) flat. Call me crazy, but I like winter.

Would love to hear some of your father's stories!
