I wiff hivv toof be loofe...

*photo not of SR shark tooth, but some random photo I found online

The Collective and I went to church today.

PN, very excited to go to children's church, and of course SR, wanted to attend church with me.

So we are singing away, I look down, and note SR, has shark teeth. Well not exactly, but it appears to look that way, he is getting a permanent lower front tooth, before his baby tooth is even loose. I guess this is called lingual eruption.

Does the kid have to over excel in EVERYTHING, I mean really? Do we need EXTRA teeth?

Of course, I am worried. I found this, and found I should keep an eye on it for a few days, and than call a darn dentist.

For those of you that have seen me, my teeth are a mess, Particularly my top front teeth. They are crooked, and it was pointed out daily when I was in middle and high school. Adults are more polite, and it does not come up daily. Thank God.

I also read some folks have like 3 sets of teeth, nice.

I have had my darn fingers in this kids poor mouth today than I would like. Trying to wiggle the baby tooth, which is not even loose yet. I may put him on a diet of granny smith apples.

SR did call today, his man birthday for the rest of the day.

i had the same thing when I was younger.. teeth growing on top of teeth.

If memory serves, the baby teeth were pulled the dentist.

Good luck that they come out all on their own.

I lost my teeth twice, it's a good party trick. #2 and #4 both have extra teeth, too. The boy just lost his front upper teeth for the second time.

I told him the tooth fairy is going to stop paying him because he's breaking the bank.

M1 had this issue & it was a quick trip to the dentist. I will say, though, that seeing the roots on the baby teeth the dentist pulled (after only ever seeing teeth that had fallen out the old-fashioned way) kind of skeeved me out. :)

Oh, and I'm sure you know, a Granny Smith Apple Diet will likely give you issues on the, ahem, opposite end of things. :)

loose teeth, and loose intestines...

yeah it is sort of a no win solution

My friend's two boys both have had all their front teeth (all 8 of them) pulled by a dentist because of the "shark tooth" effect. The new teeth slid right where they were supposed to be. You might want to bring SR in...

Noah was going to get braces for his crooked teeth... about age 12... when they did the x-rays they found an extra canine tooth bud -- and it was pointed UP... so he had to have that surgically removed -- you do not want to hear how they accomplished that... it was a same day procedure and it healed in a week... then he got his braces and he has a beautiful smile! kids' teeth have a way of working themselves out (pun intended).

Princess Trouble had both of her permanent bottom teeth come in behind the baby teeth. Eventually the baby teeth loosened up and fell out. I'd check with the dentist to be sure but don't worry about it just yet.

As for the crooked teeth, I'm with you on that one. I had a HORRIBLE gap in between my 2 front teeth, I'm missing several teeth (afw stole them!), I still have 2 baby teeth (molars that didn't have adult teeth grow in under), and no wisdom teeth. My mouth is far too small for a normal amount of teeth so it's a good thing I am missing so many! However, we are already saving for our kids' braces. Ick.

I had an extra tooth just behind my two front teeth that never grew in. It had to be surgically removed before they would give me braces. They told me that they would have to peel back the roof of my mouth to get to it. Lovely. I told them to knock me the eff out because I did not want to be conscious for that one. Oral surgery haunts me to this day. I still have nightmares. *shudder*
