My husband is at the VA as I type this. He has a consult, with a Dentist there.
Right before he left for the 18 month deployment, he went to our regular civilian Dentist and found out he needed a root canal, and $13,000 dollars worth of "crowns" on bottom teeth. Seems like his teeth grinding has only gotten worse in our 14 years of marriage. So we had another Dentist look at his teeth, they said the same thing. This left us both SICK.
So today he has an appointment with the VA. I know they will not do $13,000 dollars worth of crowns on his teeth. I am guessing he will come home with a report that says his teeth are "just great".....Or some crazy as VA Dentist will yank all of his teeth out and replace them with wooden ones.

Dude, I know this is going to sound weird, but it would be cool if he had wooden teeth! He'd instantly get credit with any re-enactor.
BTW, what the hell kind of dentist are you seeing that charges $13,000.0 for crowns? Is he getting his mouth filled with platinum teeth?
Entire lower teeth need crowns...all of them. We had estimates from $10,000-$13,000. We don't have that kind of cash....at all. They might as well have said $50,000. His Federal Blue Cross will pick up...get this $26.72. Laughable.
That's about right. 13K for all his bottom teeth. I would say, if you can do it quadrant by quandrant, try that. A damn good crown will run about $1000 a pop.
It may not be a necessity yet, but it WILL BE. The man needs a mouth guard. Did nobody ever tell him that? It would have saved his teeth.
You'll be amazed at what military dentistry will do. It depends on what the necesity is.
