Question of the week...bra washing

A friend on facebook shared this link this morning..and was completely grossed out that women do not wash bras every single day.

I guess my friend has never bought a bra, or worn one..

They are delicate items, and EXPENSIVE. I know men love gorgeous undergarments, but they are costly, especially those that flatter and fit nicely.

How often do you wash your bras? I wash my bras about every 5 days depending on activity. I mean if I am doing yard work, or something that means I will get sweaty and gross, they get washed. Bras used for exercise certainly get washed often. If I am doing nothing strenuous, I wait about 5 days. I do not think this is abnormal, maybe it is?

Plus every woman I know has a variety of bras. There are bras worn to look fancy in, bras that look best under clothing, lacy bras do not look nice under clothing, it can look bumpy etc.... so some bras do not get worn regularly.

Mine are not washed daily either. Victoria Secrets would really love me if I did wash them daily. I don't dry mine in the dryer either. I have a certain one that I wear if I'm gonna be getting all hot and sweaty.

I have three maternity bras and I wash them about once a week so each gets worn twice before washing... I would go longer but here in Texas it gets hot and I end up sweating and since they're maternity bras they get various other stuff on them, too.

But pre maternity I'd wear a bra three times before washing. They are expensive. I definately don't want to wash them every time. They wear out fast enough as it is.

I don't wash every day, either. I have two favorites I wear all the time and I hand wash and hang them to dry every week, unless I've been grossly sweaty. But sports bras are a wash every time deal for me!

I think the guy in that article thinks of bras like he does underwear that cover the southern girlie bits. He needs to get a grip. Boobs don't DO anything under normal circumstances. If you aren't lactating or sweating, there isn't much to make bra washing a daily activity. SRSLY. I can't imagine.

No daily bra washing here! Am lazy and I do dry them because am I seriously going to sort through piles of wet laundry to look for one little bra? Plus half the time I forget. I do have sports bras that I wash since I get all hot and sweaty, but realistically, I don't break a sweat too often here in the mountains.

At least you didn't ask about sheets, lol.

Weekly...but I usually switch out in the middle of the week, and the sports bra is in there too. And like most others posted, I don't dry them in the dryer (those IPEX are EXPENSIVE at $42 a pop!). Of course, I only do laundry once a week...so whether I wear one or 7, they only get WASHED weekly. But I've never gone longer than a week in one bra...that's for sure.

I'm the only weirdo then. But I buy cheap Fruit of the Loom bras and I hate underwire. They get washed and dried every day and last forever.

Who knew I was so abnormal...

I hardly ever washed mine till I bought a BraBaby (like the ones advertised on TV, except I got mine at walmart for $6). Now they get washed with the rest of the laundry. But I still don't wear them only once before washing ... I don't have enough to do that. Sports bras, of course, being the exception to that rule.
