Pretty bad when I have to reread things to figure out what has been going on..

OK, let me see.

My Father's fiancee continues to be in a rehab facility, both arms are out of casts, she is still doing PT for a large portion of her day, her left leg looks rough. I am sure it is an infection, but unsure of her medication regime etc...((It has been hard, but I decided when this happened, she has 4 children, she is not immediate family, and I would keep my mouth shut) This is this families business, so I backed out. I go to visit, and offer support. I do not need to be in the middle of this. My Father, whom has adult onset diabetes, 7 stents sitting in his chest cavity is with her most days and some nights, sleeping in her recliner in her room. (Been there done that with my own mother, and it wiped me out financially, emotionally etc) So I am worried about him, but this is his business as well, he is a big boy.

DH has just returned from a month long trip to Afghanistan. The trip was to familiarize himself with the current conditions, mission etc. He will return soon for a year. The month was long, and lonely...and full of anxiety and insomnia. Which frankly is making me dread the year ahead of us. His homecoming has been nice, being missed is good. SR did better than PN . SR does not overthink people situations, it is what it is (the Aspergers works in my favor here). PN on the other hand has also been having insomnia, bad dreams, grinding her teeth, and has a nasty case of TMJ at age 7. Ughh...PN missed her Daddy something fierce, and just seemed out of sorts for the month. Unsure how I can help her cope better.

DH's broken right radial head is healing slowly but surely. He REALLY missed the kids while away, this time is different for us, there is a relationship between him and both children...the last 2 times we did this...the kids were itty, no explanation required. I thought this was hard when they were teeny, this trumps that. I assure you.

SR just got character student of the week in ART, yes the same teacher who really was confused by him last year. Things are looking up. PE , the one thing I really thought would be a problem area this year, due to games, scorekeeping, the noise, and nature of 3rd grade gym, is awesome. SR has 2 PE teachers, both good, but one has really connected with him, and they get along just fine. SR just maxed out his PE test for the year, and scored in the top 4 of of 150 in his sex and age group in cardio. Pretty amazing for a bookish child, who would rather read than run. I will credit DH with this, as the 2 of them rode over 200 miles last year on bikes. All accounts of SR in classroom are good. God is Good. His IEP is in place, he has a para to help him through the day gets sensory breaks, does not have to eat in the cafeteria. He studies in the afternoon with his mentors, one in science, and one in math. He loves algebra, struggled a but with geometry.

PN is doing well, and enjoys her advanced reading and math group. She like school, and loves the social aspect of it, she continues to keep busy with her art, and is now reading Junie B. Jones books, and likes them. I am proud of er for keeping an eye out for SR at school. She also wants piano and art lessons. She is my organized and internally motivated child.

I am good, working about 38 hours a week, and learning a lot. We just installed a TMS machine, and I am really hoping to see success with it. They are currently working with TMS, in older Aspergians, experimenting, trying to engage the parts of the brain that do not seem to be engaged. I am always excited to hear about new treatments and research for autism...it has been ignored for too long.

I need to spring clean, get living room carpets cleaned, paint PN's room, and get motivated. I loathed winter...loathed it, hated it.

We are headed to Hawaii soon, DH, the kids, and I. We are actually going to get a long break on the beach, sun on our skin, listening to the ocean...it is certain to be an awesome way to spend our 20 year anniversary. I needed something to kickstart me for the upcoming year. We are also planning a trip on his return, unsure what yet, have thought about hiking across Utah, London, Greece, Belize...anything.

Currently life is good, overwhelming but good, learning bounderies, and better time management.

She thinks I am weird

I have been memed...

by Tammy of Household 6

It is a meme, called 7 weird things about you...

She has met me on more than one occasion. Heh....

Weird.

Just 7?

1) I have a devil of a time getting to sleep, but once I am out if I know someone else is responsible for the kids...(I could sleep for like 15 hours) However, sleeping 15 hours, means that I would need no sleep for like 2 days, and it would lead to insomnia. Are you getting the picture here? So I sleep 6 hours.

2) I like my quiet time, I am selfish with it. When the kids go down at night, I luxuriate, in the fact that the tots are sleeping. I milk my time from 8pm-until I fall asleep.

3) I loathe creepy movies. Isn't life creepy enough? I do love Hitchcock, mostly for the fashion, but only will watch creepy movies, if I know DH is not going out of town for a month, which is rarely the case, so I do not watch them.

4) I am apocalyptic in thought, and even though I am Christian, and have tremendous faith in god, I am always planning for a disaster. I struggle with this a lot, and think it makes me a terrible Christian, and I work on it daily.

5) I cannot stand dead small animals, they freak me out. Eg: mouse, cat, dog. This seems strange, because large dead animals do not freak me out. Nor do dead humans. A dead mouse, can throw me into a month of the heebie jeebies.

6) I contend that I am living in the wrong era.

7) I hate for people to see my without my makeup, this gets worse as I age. My DH loves me without makeup and reminds me daily, that I do not need it. However, I feel icky if I am "public" without it. I did manage to forget it this year while I was visiting the White House, and Air force Wife, let me borrow some of hers, but it was not my usual spackle variety. ( I learned that I did not die) I have freckles, I like them covered.

Now who to tag?

Heck go ahead and do the darn thing, will ya, you know if you cannot think of anything to blog about....

Plus, I do not want to be the only person to flaunt my weirdness

where did I put that flask?

*no make up, and tooo close.. per Daddy's request.

The week has been a comedy of errors. Even with me on the progesterone, and the pill, and with my hormones going as wacky as a "cougar" (cough). I have maintained a sense of humor, and suprisingly, have not been angry, athough the anxiety is an ass kicker.

Anxiety, to a person with insomnia just is not good.

Not good at all.

I am getting the 3 of us ready for a road trip, which is essentially good. However I need to be honest with you folks, and let you know AWTM is really a home body. I like my little schedule, routine, etc.

So I am trying to pack up portable DVD player, battery chargers, leapsters, color books, etc.....for a 10 hour drive. WHEW!!

The good news is my Collective are good travelers. They really are. (running out of doors to knock on the biggest tree I can find).

I also need to make sure garbage is out, fridge is clean, mail taken care of bills all paid, etc, tires checked ETC.

Today we vacummed out the truwk.. I only found 2 french fries!! Lots of misc. crap.

The Collective could use a haircut. We will go on post in the morning.

Momma could stand to get her roots touched up, but hair money keeps going to the Dr. (I have another sonogram tommorow)

Sir Rowland said this yesterday...

Sir Rowland: "Mom, you look great, but what are those black things on your head?"

AWTM: "Those are called roots".

Sir Rowland: "That doesn't make any sense."

AWTM: " I suppose not"

Nothing like a 3 year old and 5 year old to continuosly keep my ego in check.

So blogging will be light, light light...

Plus I have a NEWER, SEXIER, Sleeker machine, and I am trying to make sure we get off to the right start.

POST SCRIPT: It has been brought to my attention that I should CLARIFY here the NEW MACHINE is a Macbook, and not ANYTHING else...

Return of the position of the week

One of the fantastic things I enjoy about yoga, is how metaphorical it can be. Since my very lax practice at home, I got away from challenging myself.

This is a perfect example.

Urdhva Dhanurasana

Benefits

* Stretches the chest and lungs
* Strengthens the arms and wrists, legs, buttocks, abdomen, and spine
* Stimulates the thyroid and pituitary
* Increases energy and counteracts depression
* Therapeutic for asthma, back pain, infertility, and osteoporosis

The modification for that pose is this...

Setu Bandha Sarvangasana

Benefits

* Stretches the chest, neck, and spine
* Calms the brain and helps alleviate stress and mild depression
* Stimulates abdominal organs, lungs, and thyroid
* Rejuvenates tired legs
* Improves digestion
* Helps relieve the symptoms of menopause
* Relieves menstrual discomfort when done supported
* Reduces anxiety, fatigue, backache, headache, and insomnia
* Therapeutic for asthma, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, and sinusitis

So I have been doing the modification. Because I was not trusting myself or my personal strength. For some reason Urdhva Dhanurasana frightens me. And I am unsure why. As a child I could easily do that pose, I could walk around like that. But as an adult, it is physically harder. But the real frightening part as an adult for me, is the fear. The fear that I cannot get into the pose, that I do not have the strength or flexibility to depend on myself.

So yesterday, when my teacher encouraged us to go into the pose, no one did. I was on my mat, and thinking..."no way, no way." And then I gave myself a small pep talk, and suddenly I was in Urdhva Dhanurasana.

I am strong enough, I am flexible, I can rely on myself.

It was nice. Even if I only stayed in Urdhva Dhanurasana for 3 breaths.

The elusive sleep, thank you Nick Cage

I have been pooped this week. I am guessing part of it may be the return to the exercise regime. I do sleep better if I do my yoga. It is still dark around 5:30pm. We have resolved our future with this last opportunity and move, and it feels as though the weight of the world has been lifted off of our shoulders. . I also have this "whatever is making me cough", this annoying cough. Oh and the packing, and the idea of packing, it has made me tired.

The Collective typically sleep now. They should, they really owe it to me, after the years of sleep deprivation that comes with child rearing. Oh, and having a spouse away at war for a year doesn't help with sleep either. Being home alone as often as I am does not make for good sleep. Add those up with my long history of insomnia. And well I normally am lucky to get 5-6 hours. Interrupted mind you

For the past three nights, DH and I have tried to watch that damn National Treasure movie, and found the premise exciting. The movie horrible. Nick Cage dialogue horrid, and quipy. It seriously took us 3 nights to get through it.

I have actually probably slept more in the last 3 days than I did last week combined. So thank you Nick Cage. I only wish I could stop waking up after I have gotten my 5 hours. I wake and am ready to rock and roll. There is no rock and roll at 2am in suburbia. Then I wake again at 3:30, still no rock and roll.

So thank you Nick Cage, for allowing me to actually sleep 24 hours in 3 days, even if interrupted. I may have to start renting all of your movies. Well except for Valley Girl, I liked you in that.

Blister in the sun

*written last evening

Leaving Las Vegas

I am sitting at The Las Vegas Airport, and recall how much I used to like Las Vegas.

I used to like Las Vegas more, but now it just makes me feel aged.

Did I have a great time? Heck Yeah. Was the MilBlogging Conference fantastic, Was the Party at the Penthouse Club the stuff legends are made of? Indeed. Do I regret going? No. When in Rome, and all of that.

I might recover next week or in October.

However, I will say Vegas burns fast.

I am a pacer by nature, I do not sit still for long, I have insomnia, (Which was not present this weekend, thank you Bombay Saphire) I watch people (which will tire you in Vegas. ), folks that normally only require 5 hours of sleep in suburbia, well they sleep less in Las Vegas. Maybe it is because I am 38? Maybe it is because I am a Mom, I am not sure when this happened. I overstimulate now , my filter is broken. And between the thumping music, the hoards of people, the constant boing sounds that jet out of the slots, lights that blink, mammoth pictures of Carrot Top, Barry Manilow plastered on the sides of buildings, the douchey Eurotrash, the douchey highlighted hair dudes, (there are a lot of douchey guys in Las Vegas...A LOT) hookers, inappropriately dressed females, too many fedoras on 23 year old guys who need to wash their hair, people flicking porn at me as I just try and walk by quickly. Andi actually calls Las Vegas "excessive", and that is probably the best word to describe it.

I went to Las Vegas this year, to see friends, meet new ones. DH was initially going to go. But has been VERY busy with his new assignment, and has not been able to spend a lot of extra time with The Collective, I have mentioned this before, but he is a workaholic, and "the new kid on the block". So he opted to stay at home and spend some good quality time with the kids. Vegas makes me miss NORMAL after the first 24 hours. I miss the three of them. This year has been a complicated one for us, there have been a lot of changes, a lot of them. The Mil-blogging conference was Dear Husbands treat for me, after the DITY PCS, etc. I needed some down time so I could play, and get refocused, we have a lot of projects in the works. Including AWTM heading back to the workforce.

And the excessive nature of Las Vegas (and my participation in such) made me LONG for my quiet normal, BORING existence.

I am ready.

Also, if someone set up little band aide booths all over in Vegas, you would make A LOT of cash...people would spend $20 in a pinch, because of poorly fitting shoes, and blisters.

Coyotes, and a pet cock.

Tonight we started our sprinkler system. I had trouble reading the directions, because I have no idea what a darn "pet cock" was. Yes indeedy my friends, that is what the directions said. I looked at the drawings and everything.

When I grow up I am going to write directions fro things, and label confusing parts as pet vaginas...

On another note, my insomnia is back, with a vengeance. So I am currently listening to coyotes, which makes me a bit nervous, as I hear a couple of dogs as well. that can't be good. I am not sure why coyotes make me nervous, but they do, when they are this close. The dogs involved in the coyote noise also sounded a bit desperate, which made me nervous. I keep wondering what is going on, and if anyone else is awake. How people can sleep with such ruckus going on, I have no idea.

It is moments like this, when I think I would have made a crappy pioneer. What would I have a lantern, and a rifle? No street lights to see the damn things, and I know they would have had my chickens by now.

Rhubarb season is here!! My Father called tonight, and said he has cleaned, and diced an entire ice cream bucket full. I will be making jelly and jam!

I would love to try this one

The sharp taste of rhubarb is balanced by the sweet blueberries and sugar.
Ingredients

3 1/2 C. rhubarb, coarsely chopped
1/2 C. water
2 1/4 C. blueberries, coarsely chopped
1 Tbs. lemon juice
1 57g box regular powdered fruit pectin
5 1/2 C. sugar
Directions

Place rhubarb and water in a large stainless steel or enamel saucepan. Bring to boil over high heat cover, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add blueberries, lemon juice, and pectin; mix well. Bring to boil over high heat, stirring occasionally, add sugar, return to full boil and boil hard for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Ladle jam into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/4" headspace. Seal immediately with 2-piece lids according to manufacturer’s instructions. Process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes.

Unable to ch ch ch change gears.......

For some reason, I have noted, I am abnormally tired this week.

This is a strange feeling for me, as typically I am actually full of energy. Motivation can lack, but normally I can go-go-go.

I am going, but my head is not in the game.

That is the tricky thing about insomnia...

It seems to catch up with you at unlikely moments and times, and you feel as though you are operating in a fog.

FOGGY. I hate that feeling, and I have had it since Friday.

Let me see, tonight I am washing preschool blanket and pillow, preparing science fair proposal with SR, grilling hamburgers, made breakfast a go go cookies for the kids (quite delish).

I did manage a run to the dry cleaner yesterday with my clothes that needed cleaning and pressing, I can pick them up tomorrow night.

Yesterday, we had company, DH's aunt and Uncle were celebrating their 36th wedding anniversary, they came to see the house, catch up with the collective, I had promised to fix a meal, but seriously I was wiped...so we took them to dinner....they are always lovely company, and it was nice to see them.

Gotta go before I burn my burgers

Position of the Week

We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.
~Anais Nin

par-ee-POOR-nah nah-VAHS-anna) paripurna = full, entire, complete nava = boat
Benefits
Strengthens the abdomen, hip flexors, and spine
Stimulates the kidneys, thyroid and prostate glands, and intestines
Helps relieve stress
Improves digestion
Contraindications/Cautions
Asthma
Diarrhea
Headache
Heart Problems
Insomnia
Low blood pressure

Neck injury: Sit with your back near a wall to perform this pose. As you tilt your torso back rest the back of your head on the wall.
Step by Step
Sit on the floor with your legs straight in front of you. Press your hands on the floor a little behind your hips, fingers pointing toward the feet, and strengthen the arms. Lift through the top of the sternum and lean back slightly. As you do this make sure your back doesn't round; continue to lengthen the front of your torso between the pubis and top sternum. Sit on the "tripod" of your two sitting bones and tailbone.
Exhale and bend your knees, then lift your feet off the floor, so that the thighs are angled about 45-50 degrees relative to the floor. Lengthen your tailbone into the floor and lift your pubis toward your navel. If possible, slowly straighten your knees, raising the tips of your toes slightly above the level of your eyes. If this isn't possible remain with your knees bent, perhaps lifting the shins parallel to the floor.
Stretch your arms alongside the legs, parallel to each other and the floor. Spread the shoulder blades across your back and reach strongly out through the fingers. If this isn't possible, keep the hands on the floor beside your hips or hold on to the backs of your thighs.
While the lower belly should be firm, it shouldn't get hard and thick. Try to keep the lower belly relatively flat. Press the heads of the thigh bones toward the floor to help anchor the pose and lift the top sternum. Breathe easily. Tip the chin slightly toward the sternum so the base of the skull lifts lightly away from the back of the neck.
At first stay in the pose for 10-20 seconds. Gradually increase the time of your stay to 1 minute. Release the legs with an exhalation and sit upright on an inhalation.

In the morning my Husband will be a year older..

I am getting ready to hit the sack. I am beat tonight.

I did mange to make it to work early today, and stayed later. Thanks to DH, who took the day off to spend Columbus Day with the collective. I guess the day went well for them.

I did manage to get to the YMCA, for part of SR's swim lesson. He is doing well, and PN's swim lesson, she is too!! DH, and SR went to Scouts, where SR earned his 1st badge. Must get either thread out, or some dual tape to iron this on ASAP!! He was excited!

Tomorrow DH is 41, and I must try and bake his cake after work and school tomorrow, and I think we are going out to eat to celebrate. I then must return home to make at least 2 dozen rice krispie treats for CREW at church.

Today I recieved 2 calls from PTO begging me to host Cora's fall party at school on the 23rd. I broke down and accepted the challenge. It is only an hour, I can come up with something for a room of kids to do for an hour can't I?

DH is chaperoning the pumpkin patch trip Wednesday.

My mechanic called today, he has been driving my car all week, and it is fine, diagnostics fine....

He has no idea why it did what it did...

So looks like I am in the market for a trade in, and soon....I have no idea what I will be doing, or where I will find the time to screw around with this....I love my car, but seriously do not need mysterious problems popping up.....

I have been with DH for half of his life now.

1/2. Frankly he deserves a medal, for that...

Go to bed, that is where i am headed..Sleeping hard lately, since i was ill, no insomnia to speak of. Everyone is sleeping good here through the night.

I have a small naggy list of things I need to get done ASAP. I hate that.

We are headed to the library for the big Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash!

Photo rundown from the last few months, you can watch them grow

Random photos from summer, it has been a while since I posted any. The past 1 week....awesome for us. One bad day for SR today, the semi meltdown had to do with writing. PN started Daisies last night, SR continues with Scouts. DH was a peach and took them both to the outings. I did take SR on a long bike ride. About 4-5 miles. It was a gorgeous night for a ride, beautiful sunset. DH also managed to sweet talk the University into letting SR attend Chemistry Day. This is normally an activity for high schoolers looking for a college. We get turned down a lot from these types of activities, but not this time! YAY it is this Saturday. I am TIRED. Not tired, but TIRED. I too started the melatonin when I need it, and it has done me well. I have always suffered from insomnia, ever since I was small. However I find at this time SLEEP is imperative to my well being. I have lived on 4-5 hours of sleep for about 8 years. It cannot be good for a person.

Kiddos at Mount Rushmore, they really had a fun time. We all did. first REAL vacation. Coolest part? Kiddos are big enough to pack, and carry own suitcases, no fighting in 17 hours in a vehicle!

DH and SR in Deadwood. The Collective were good there too, and even humored DH and I by wearing costumes, and getting a wild west photo taken.

After 7 hours in the car, we made it to Scottsbluff, not much there but Chimney Rock, one of the premier sights to be seen re: Western expansion of the states. the kiddos were not uber enthused, I was. Here is a photo of us getting attacked by giant flying, and biting ants. ITCHY.

The kiddo that took forever to like fireworks, because of sound, etc, loves them! Here is SR up in my hometown getting ready for fireworks with the entire family.

My beautiful neice, and the Collective at 4th of July at Grampanios. I love these little faces!

If I were a morning person, I could save the WORLD. Or at least myself.

I have never been a morning person.

Never.

Even when I worked from 6am-6pm as a nurse, and had to wake at 4:30am, I HATED it. HATED it.

I woke up every morning loathing the 4:30 hour. I tried to like it, I did, for 8 years I tried liking it.

Me "the talker", does not like conversation in the morning. (Do not expect a smile until 9:30am) Hard to believe, I KNOW.

I do not like romance in the morning either. That romantic notion of rolling over and madly attacking on another in the morning, is not typically appealing. I need to have coffee and brush my teeth.

I am a night owl. I function fantastically from 10am-2am.

I always have. I have insomnia, always have.

In junior high, I would sit and listen to old radio shows until I fell asleep.

I read at night to go to sleep.

I wish I could hop in bed at 10pm, and sleep.

I have tried about everything at this point. Long walks, yoga, and regular exercise does help....no caffeine after 11am, helps.

For 17 years I have been married to a morning person. My children are morning people. Everyone here wakes up going 100 miles per hour.

Me? I look like an ostrich in the morning, all disheveled, and wild, feathers all fluffed up, eyes half closed. Irritated. That is me in the morning.

These children need someone perky in the morning. They need someone who will be ready to go "Sis boom bah! Get ready for school, it is a gorgeous day, the new day awaits, conquer it, I LOVE you guys, etc...."

I am going to have to work on this.

My poor Husband, sings and jokes, and is playful in the morning. Me? Not so much, I should not be allowed to talk to another human until 10am.

And people who wake with cheerful dispositions in the morning, irritate the shit out of those of us who wake slowly.

When my Mother was still living, she and my DH would wake at 5am, make coffee, go on the deck, chat, cook and have a party. My Father who is also an ostrich...and myself, we would wake and roll our eyes at them as we sipped our coffee. We would secretly plot how to make their mornings as miserable ours.

And the other day I read this brilliant little ditty by Tuna Girl...

I so fervently wish that I could be a morning person. This morning I got to hang out and chat with my husband while he got ready for work. I got to spend some quality time with my son who is sickeningly happy in the morning. He was even dancing! And I got to sip coffee while the men in my life had bacon and eggs. It was nice.

I feel like if I could just wake up at 6 a.m. every morning my life we be so much better. All of my problems would be fixed. I'd be the kind of person who exercises and folds laundry right out of the drier. I'd be the kind of person who saves money and has a hobby. I'd be the kind of person who has a clean house and...does stuff.

My teeth would be white. My hair would blow in a constant wind. And I'd wear...outfits!

I am with her, being a morning person could solve all of my problems...

It might make me near perfect...

Or maybe I need another cup of coffee.

Position of the Week

Life shrinks or expands according to one's courage
~Nin

Yesterday in class, we worked on this pose.

And for those of us who practice yoga, it was one of those classes in which metaphorically all things physical and emotional, melded together to make some sort of sense. The headstand pose is a little frightening. It puts you in a place you are not used to. The inversion. Therefore, you are a little scared. Scared to try something new, scared of the perspective, scared to trust yourself. An enlightening position. I managed to get up into a modified headstand for a long while, and then started straightening my legs. I found the position to be frightening, because I could do it, but it was hard, it required "all" of my focus. And I wasn't willing to allow it. So I stayed up legs tall for only a moment, because I guess I was a bit afraid. Afraid of succeeding today and not tomorrow, afraid of allowing myself to focus, afraid of feeling inverted. So I allowed myself to stay in a modified headstand, because it was much easier.

Before the year is up, I will manage this.

******Sirsasana is considered to be an intermediate to advanced pose. Do not perform this pose without sufficient prior experience or unless you have the supervision of an experienced teacher. Some schools of yoga recommend doing Sirsasana before Sarvangasana, others vice versa. The instruction here assumes the former order.

Better than opioids...

Saturday Dash, Pink Ninja and I went swimming for 4 hours, cleaned up, ate lunch with Dad, and tried to settle down for a nap.

I flipped through the cable stations to find football. Can I tell you the sound of it blanketed me with a lethargy I have not known since I was on drugs after my medical procedure.

Seriously, the football game about had me to sleep.

I think I know how to cure my insomnia.

Weekdays

Good Morning. For those of you concerned, my insomnia is back. Despite the tension tamer teas, with honey and lemon. Despite drinking nothing caffinated after 10am. Despite taking melatonin. So I am done with my affair, and I will no longer be obsessing about sleep, or talking lovingly about how I loved sleeping. It is gone. It is interesting to know that a surgical procedure, with its anesthesia is the only way for this lady to get some sleep.

It is going to be another balmy day. I am sitting here trying to come up with some sort of project for us all. It is seriously HOT, out, and has been for 3 weeks now. Very little relief in sight. On a realted note. Our current electirc company, has started buying from another source, which has left those in my district paying DOUBLE for our electric. This has been a major daily source of anger with me. (Just another reason for me to move to Wyoming, or Montana and live off grid, like some crazy person with DH)

I do have to run to the bank today, and if I am out and about I just might break down and take the kids to the McPetrieDishOfFilthPlayArea. Perhaps $1 ice creams are in order, after 2 hours of climbing and playing.

Oh and we need to get Cousin Curl a birthday gift, and cards. Darn, we will be missing another birthday. We miss her.

Insomnia....

even after taking some melatonin, and drinking chamomile.

thinking about the pelvic sonogram in the morning, also thinking about the fact that lab, and test results, will take FOREVER.

Position of the Week #16

Vrksasana (Tree Pose)

Vrksasana clarifies just how challenging it can be to stand on one leg.

BenefitsStrengthens thighs, calves, ankles, and spine
Stretches the groins and inner thighs, chest and shoulders
Improves sense of balance
Relieves sciatica and reduces flat feet

Contraindications/CautionsHeadache
Insomnia
Low blood pressure
High blood pressure: Don't raise arms overhead

Step by StepStand in Tadasana. Shift your weight slightly onto the left foot, keeping the inner foot firm to the floor, and bend your right knee. Reach down with your right hand and clasp your right ankle.
Draw your right foot up and place the sole against the inner left thigh; if possible, press the right heel into the inner left groin, toes pointing toward the floor. The center of your pelvis should be directly over the left foot.
Rest your hands on the top rim of your pelvis. Make sure the pelvis is in a neutral position, with the top rim parallel to the floor.
Lengthen your tailbone toward the floor. Firmly press the right foot sole against the inner thigh and resist with the outer left leg. Press your hands together in Anjali Mudra. Gaze softly at a fixed point in front of you on the floor about 4 or 5 feet away.
Stay for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Step back to Tadasana with an exhalation and repeat for the same length of time with the legs reversed.
